Imagine poisoning butterflies, then deciding the butterflies need fixing.
That is, remarkably, where conservation is heading. The UK’s Advanced Research and Invention Agency is putting £54 million into an “accelerated adaptation” programme designed to help wild species survive climate change, disease and other human pressures.
