One of the strangest arguments against replacing animal flesh is that doing so might hurt the industries currently making money from animals.
A major transition away from conventional meat would affect farmers, workers, businesses and rural communities. Pretending otherwise would be dishonest. But there is a difference between planning for those consequences and treating them as a reason to preserve animal exploitation.
